Head of PF «Civic Platform» Ainura Usupbekova met with Venice Commission of the Council of Europe
Bishkek, June 14. Today head of Public foundation «Civic Platform» met with members of Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.
During the meeting the parties discussed the assistance of the Venice Commission in the improvement of the electoral system in the Kyrgyz Republic under the project.
The discussion was attended by Chairman of the Election Commission of Latvia Tsimdars Aris, an independent expert on the right to vote, the former chairman of the Electoral Commission of Great Britain Peter Vordl; former Minister of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, deputy member of the Venice Commission, Vladimir Grosu of Moldova; Project manager in Central Asia, regional cooperation programs department of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, France Svetlana Anisimova; elections expert Dinara Oshurahunova and others.
Venice Commission of Council of Europe has become a part of the European Union project aimed at improving the electoral system in the Kyrgyz Republic. In the coming years it is planned to hold a series of joint activities with the CEC, SRS, the Parliament and with representatives of civil society.
