Deputies decide to vote in single package for all amendments to Constitution
The deputies decided that the population will vote in a single package for all the changes at the referendum. The decision was taken at today’s meeting.
MP Bakyt Torobaev proposed to include in the law on the referendum a point that ballot should indicate all the specific changes. The MP suggested that in such a way the will of the people will be expressed fully.
MP Cholpon Dzhakupova agreed with him, noting that she has divided opinion on the amendments to the Constitution: she agrees with some of them, and absolutely not with others.
However, the majority of deputies decided that just the question of changes to the Constitution will be submitted to the referendum.
The deputies adopted the law on the referendum, which had already caused a lot of controversy and criticism, in the second reading.
