Deputies postpone for two weeks consideration of bill on abolition of Military Court

Deputies postponed for two weeks the consideration of the bill on the abolition of the Military Court. The decision was taken today at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security.

The initiators of the amendments to the law on the status of judges noted that the load on military judges is small but the salaries they receive are higher than the servants of Themis in local courts. Therefore it’s proposed to abandon the Military Court Institute.

However, during the discussion the deputies of committee had a number of questions on the document. A number of MPs have opposed the bill, believing that it will affect the country’s security.

In the end, the deputies gave the initiators 14 days for additional preparation of the document.
