Controversial bill on appointment referendum date made public
Consideration of the bill on a referendum to amend the Constitution will begin this week. MP from Bir Bol faction Cholpon Dzhakupova posted on Facebook.
It is noted that the version of the bill in Russian and Kyrgyz languages appeared on the website of the Parliament on Friday at 7.00 p.m.
Previously, own sources in Parliament informed 24.kg news agency that the plebiscite to amend the Constitution would be held on December 4. Elections to 400 local councils, including the Bishkek city council, will be held on the same day.
Referendum date is still a matter of controversy not only in Parliament but also among the experts. According to the executive director of Taza Shailoo Association Tagir Osmonaliev “referendum can not be held simultaneously with the elections of deputies of local councils, who were elected on November 25, 2015”.
According to the Central Election Commission, the referendum will cost the state 67,040,000 soms.
