Roza Otunbayeva tells what she expects from presidential candidates
Roza Otunbayeva, the president of the transition period, today at a forum of the authorities and the opposition told what she expected from potential candidates for the post of the president of Kyrgyzstan.
According to her, potential nominees for the main political post of the country should be ready to clean the offices, hire new personnel, exclude political passions and set the right tasks.
At the same time, Roza Otunbayeva called on all parties to engage in a political and constructive dialogue before the elections, adding that today, under Almazbek Atambayev’s rule, the situation is the same as before.
«Criminal cases can be opened against those who do not support Atambayev. Some already serve their sentences. We have lost count of claims to protect the honor and dignity of the president against those who dared to criticize the head of state. All this leads to usurpation and political irresponsibility. That is a closed loop. We must strive not to enter into these elections as enemies,” Roza Otunbayeva stressed.
