Rally against seizure of land for public purposes to take place at White House in Bishkek
Rally against seizure of land for public purposes will be held today at White House. Member of the initiative group Ainura Dzhumasheva told 24.kg news agency.
According to her, the citizens are going to demand from the deputies the cancellation of amendments to the Housing, Land, Civil and Forest Codes which relate to the private property. The bill has been approved in two readings. After the summer recess, the Parliament is going to endorse it in the third.
The Ministry of Justice has initiated changes to lift the ban on the withdrawal of land plots for the maintenance of residential houses and farm households. At present, according to the Land Code, private garden spaces are not subject to seizure for state, municipal and public needs. That is, the obtained for free land plots of citizens (gardens, vegetable gardens, plots) may lose the protection of the law, and the state will be able to withdraw them or to buy, if it is required by the public needs.
