CEC purchases automatic ballot boxes from the Korean company

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Kyrgyz Republic has purchased automatic ballot boxes from Korea’s Miry Systems company, the press service of the CEC reports.

The automatic ballot boxes for counting of votes have been successfully used during the parliamentary elections in 2015 and local elections in 2016.

In autumn of this year there will be early elections in 412 municipal and local councils.

The upcoming elections of deputies to local councils will be held both by the majority and proportional systems, which may require additional automatic ballot boxes.

The additional ballot boxes will be purchased for the EU’s grant in the framework of the program “Strengthening democracy through reform of the electoral system.”
